We at Adoptable Greythounds of Florida look forward to helping your family find the Greyhound that you can't stop petting and looking into their beautiful face.

To begin the adoption process we ask that you take time to complete the short application found on this website.  Adoptable Greythounds of Florida uses this to assist you in finding your perfect new family member.  Our purpose is not to choose your dog for you but to understand your lifestyle.  There may be multiple hounds that may fit in well with your family and would like to meet you.   If you prefer to discuss the questions with us personally, please contact us at the numbers listed under the Contact tab.

Once we have reviewed your application we arrange the fun part, introducing you to our Greyhounds.  If you have other dogs, we encourage you to bring them with you so that they and the Greyhounds can meet on neutral grounds.   If you have cats in your home, we will try to arrange for the Greyhound you choose and your cat to meet at another time at your home.  Even when cat tested we have found sometimes the Greys test differently with the cats they are going to be living with.   This is a precaution we take prior to finalizing the adoption to protect all.

Please keep in mind that with the closing of the tracks in Florida, we have been transporting greyhounds as they become available from farms and tracks in other states. 

After the newest family member has won you over, if their spay/neuter has been completed they will be ready to go home with you.   If the surgery hasn't been performed we will schedule the operation as soon as possible.  For your convenience we have attached a Welcome Home letter to provide helpful first days information and also supplies that your Greyhound will need. 

Our adoption fee covers the spay/neuter, dental, heartworm test, microchip insertion, transportation and relocation costs.  Your Greyhound will be current on their shots.
